03/09/2021 - Elkader Candidate Filing Begins. First day to file nomination papers with the auditor (10 signatures needed)

03/12/2021 - Garnavillo Candidate Filing Begins. First day to file nomination papers with the auditor (10 signatures needed)

03/26/2021 - Filing Deadline. Last day to file nomination papers with the auditor. Deadline is 5 P.M.

03/29/2021 - Candidate Withdrawal Deadline. Last day for candidates to withdraw by filing a written request with the auditor. Deadline is 5 P.M.

03/29/2021 - Objections. Written notice of the objection must be filed with the auditor no later than noon.

03/31/2021 - First day to in-person vote and mail absentee ballots.

04/02/2021 - Office closed.

04/05/2021 - Last day to mail absentee ballots.

04/05/2021 - Voter Registration Deadline 5:00 P.M.

04/19/2021 - Last day to vote absentee in-person.

04/20/2021 - Election Day. Polls are open 7 A.M. to 8 P.M.

04/20/2021 - ALL absentee ballots must be received in the auditor's office by 8 P.M. to be counted.
